M&M Pumpkin Spice

I am so scared right now.
Everyone is howling and screaming.
Ghosts all around.
Even the TV is trying to eat me.
Thankfully I have some M&Ms to eat.
That sugar rush will take the scaryness away.

And what flavor you ask?
Of course it had to be semi-official flavor, Pumpkin Spice.
Starting with the packaging.
It is pretty awesome.
It has just enough autumy in it.
Orange and brown, check.
Pumpkins, check.
And the orange M&M looks like he stumbled into the wrong pumpkin patch.

The orange and the brown M&Ms are nice, but the green? To close to Christmas.
They do smell like pumpkin and that is all I have to say about that.
The taste. It was not what i expected.
The taste is very weird and bitter.
In other words, perfect for Halloween.

Lets round this of with... Ohh no... Now my girlfriend is possesed!
The power of christ compels you. The power of christ compel you.

Happy Halloween. *arwooo*

Jell-O Pumpkin Spice [Seasonal Release]

And now... Even more Pumpkin Spice.
Yes, at Halloween everything must be spiced with Pumpkin Spice.
And I am starting to get a bit afraid of the flavor.
I mean, pumpkins are evil right?

Anyway... Today Jell-O has gotten the Pumpkin Spice treatment.
And I am fine with that. I like Jell-Os puddings.
The packaging is pretty autumy.
Brown and orange colors everywhere.
And lots of leaves colored everything autum.
Which I am starting to like.
I really like leaves.

Making the pudding was easy peasy.
Even if the screams from the cemetary next door was a bit annoying.
Damn ghouls, always howling around Halloween.
After letting the pudding set for more than five minutes.
Hey, these spiderwebs are not gonna clean themselves.
And then chasing of some hungry bats.
It was time to eat.

As you can see, we enjoyed our pudding with some whipped cream (it really is a must).
Not to be short, but it kind of looks like , smell and taste like gingerbread.
And that is fine, since we are closing in on Christmas.
That is, if we survive the nightmare before christmas...

Brach's Caramel Apple Candy Corn

Something that is a must at Halloween, is candy corn.
Last year I wrote about Brach's Candy Corn.
I did not really like them, but hey, why not try some different candy corn.
These are also fron Branch's, but they are flavored with caramel apple.

Now caramel apple is also a regular staple at Halloween, so why not combine them.
I do enjoy the simplicity of the bag.
It has the classic fall colors, yellow, orange and brown (with some leaves thrown in for effect).
And you get a clear view of the nicelly colored candy.
That redish color is awesome.

They have a caramel smell to them and a bit of the apple to.
The apple smell is very faint, but you do notice it if you try hard.
As I did not enjoy the "honey" flavor of the originals, I was not sure what to expect.
But these are quite lovely. There is a nice caramel flavor.
And they feel a bit more chewy than the original.
Though no apple flavor worth mentioning.

Pumpkin Spice Pancake Mix

At autum/Halloween, everything must be pumpkin spice flavoured!
That is a rule and you have to at least try something flavoured that way.
I was hungry and decided to make pancakes.
Pumpkin Spice flavoured pancakes!

Now, I know these are not scary at all, but that is not the point.
These are more autum than Halloween.
Nonetheless, the packaging is pretty sweet.
A nice autumy colour theme and lots of pumpkins.
And the pancakes on the front makes my mouth water.

Just add water and stir... Nothing could be easier.
Well, as you can see in the last picture, I kind of blew it.
They do look a bit more Halloweeny and they smell terrific.
A nice smell of pumpkin fills the room.
Despite them beeing a bit burned, they actually tastes very nice.
Pumpkin spice is a bit like gingerbread but not quite.

Halloween Blood Orange Pumpkin Juice Drink

It is getting darker for every minute that goes by.
There is a chill in the air.
The screams of a thousand ghouls and ghosts are increasing in volume.
Yes boys and girls, Halloween is coming.
And what better way to start the celebration than with some juice made from blood!

Blood orange that is... And some pumpkin thrown in for that autum feeling.
This is a juice from Solevita who apparently makes lots of different flavours.
But only one flavour can satisfy my needs this season.
A Halloweeny flavour.

The carton is orange, as it should be, but besides the haunted house and bats, it is not that scary.
I mean, the cat looks like we just caught him doing something it should not have.
And the scarecrow is too damn happy.
This did not scare me at all.

I must admit, I have never tasted pumpkin juice before.
And I think the juice both smells and taste of blood orange and not much else.
But I could be wrong.
The pumpkin flavour could be hiding somewhere waiting to scare my stomach silly.

Saturnus 1893 Med Smak Av Hallon & Lakrits

We are now halfway between Halloween and the Christmas season.
And what better way, than to celebrate with a kind of hybrid.
I have written before that mulled wine is a big part of Christmas here in Sweden.
And mulled wine is what we have here.
But for some reason it is flavored with something I wrote about on Halloween last year.
Hallon-Lakrits-Skallar. Or Raspberry Licorice Skulls in English.
Yes, this mulled wine is flavored with a Halloween candy (sort of).
I do not really know what went through their heads when creating it.
But it must have been both something sinister and jolly.

The packaging is pretty standard.
The company, some text and the aforementioned candy at the bottom.
Nothing fancy.
The liquid is a very dark red color.
And has a smell of regular mulled wine but also a hint of raspberry and licorice.
It is quite weird. Because it is nothing you would expect from mulled wine.
But what about the taste? Is it more jolly than sinister?
Well, no. It is very strange.
There is of course the taste of regular mulled wine.
But also a strong taste of candy, raspberry/licorice candy.
It is a bit to sweet actually.

Now I think I have to go watch Nightmare Before Christmas.
It is also an hybrid och Halloween and Christmas.

Brach's Candy Corn

This is the real Halloween candy.
Or at least, the candy that is famous at Halloween.
You see it in movies, in TV-series and the likes.
They are as famous as Halloween itself.

According to the package.
Each year Americans consume enough candy corn to circle the earth 4.25 times.
That is crazy and a little bit scary (hey, it is Halloween).
Funny enough, they are made in Mexico.

The packaging is kind of nice, orange is an Halloween color.
And it is nice to be able to see the candy.
Because the colors of the candy is awesome.
A yellow top, orange center and a white bottom.
Corn never looked this good.

Strangely enough they are not made with sugar, but with (real) honey.
They smell like, well, candy corn i guess.
I am not sure if I have smelled something similar before.
They are pretty chewy and that is nice.
The honey gives them a weird taste actually.
Or maybe there is something else.
What I am trying to say (write) is that they taste weird.
Like honey mixed with other unnamed flavors.

I must say, I am a bit disappoint.
I do not understand what all the fuzz is about.

Have a scary Halloween! < insert satanical laughter >

KitKat Pumpkin Pudding

I do not think I have ever eaten pumpkin pudding.
But there is a first for everything.
And now I get to do it in Japanese chocolate style.
Most people would not really be scared of a chocolate bar.
Much less a KitKat?

But, come on... Just look a that pumpkin on the bag.
He has created a kind of symbiosis with the chocolate.
And he is a really evil dude.
Those kids in the corner disappeared after I took the picture.
He ate them, right of the package.
His buddy, the "friendly" ghost, repainted the whole package black.
Inside the bag there are different small packages of KitKat.
All depicting kids with different Halloween costumes.

The chocolate is milk chocolate based.
It does not really smell like anything but chocolate.
Come to think of it, what does pumpkin in chocolate smell like?
I do know what pumpkin should taste like, and it is nothing like this.
The coconut flavor is overwhelming.
Maybe it was not coconut?
Maybe it was poison?
Damn you evil pumpkin!
And your ghost to!

Halloween Nuggets

These have haunted my fridge for what feels like an eternity.
I finally got tired of the moaning.
It was really making the other foods distraught.
So I thought... It will be Halloween soon.
Why not eat some zombie chicken nuggets?

Judging from the box, the scarecrow watches over the zombie chickens until they are ripe.
He loves his job. Why would he not?
He gets to kick zombie chickens around all day.
I guess his master in the castle has a craving for zombie chickens.
Who here does not have such cravings?
The cat looks a bit embarrassed, maybe he walked in to the wrong box.

There are nine zombie chicken nuggets in the box.
All shaped like objects of Halloween.
We have six ghosts, two pumpkins and a bat.
The bat is my favorite.
He is the king of the Halloween nuggets.

Really, they are just regular chicken nuggets.
They smell and taste like regular chicken nuggets.
So there is nothing to worry about.
Except, they are zombie chicken nuggets!
Who wants to eat you!
Eat or be eaten!

Ghostbusters Slimed! Energy Drink

Even ghost hunters needs some extra energy sometimes.
Even if they have a cool pimped out ambulance called ECTO-1.
I am of course, talking about Ghostbusters.

I grew up with the films and TV-series.
And I really love them.
I know Slimer did not get that much screen time in the movies.
But as I can remember, he had more time in the series.
A nasty but friendly ghost.
Why should he not get his own energy drink?

The can is lovely. There he is, his nasty self.
Of course I could not get a good picture of the liquid.
Because it is really green. A lot like slime.

Suspicion soon arose when i noticed it smells just like an ordinary energy drink.
It also taste just like any other energy drink.
That made me sad.
But, then I remembered its green color.
And I can finally say... I got slimed!

Dried Blood

Yesteryear I started Halloween by writing about Blood Energy Potion.
Well, I saved some of it and dried it into these blood drops.
Since then they have lurked in the back of my pantry collecting ominous energy.
And this year long wait, has made me tired.

They are supposed to have a fruit punch/cherry flavor.
And they sure do smell like cherries. Bloody cherries!
The dried blood has a hard shell and a chewy center.
Like biting through a bone.

I do not know if they taste of cherries.
There is a fruity flavor, but not much cherry.
I am not a big fan of this type of candy.
So these were pretty, meh.

Vampire Bleeding Candles

Saw these in a store and thought to myself.
These look awesome. These look Halloweeny.
I had to buy them despite the fact that they were a bit expensive.
But come on... Bleeding candles!

They look like regular candles, but inside they are carrying something more sinister? Lightning them is no problem at all.
It takes a while for the white wax to disappear so we can get to the "blood" part.
You see, this is a very sinister contraption.
The white wax is not dripp but the red wax, hidden within dripps like theres no tomorrow.
You are left with a pretty dramatic scenery. Almost like blood from a real wound.
One remark is that when the red mixes with the white you get pink.
And pink is no blood colour.

Below are pictures of the effect:
Happy Halloween!

Hallon-Lakrits-Skallar

Scary skulls with liquorice/raspberrie flavouring.
I like these everyday of the year, but at Halloween they're something special.
I'm almost afraid to open the bag (even if the skull on the packaging looks a bit baked).
But Halloween is no time to be afraid.
At Halloween you have to embrace your fears.

Upon opening the bag I'm meet with a smell of liquorice and a fainter smell of raspberries.
I could hear manical laughing from the bag, or maybey it was just the tv?
I reached into the bag and pulled two skulls from it.
My fingers were still intact.

The skulls have a perfect mix of liquorice and raspberrie-flavour.
The taste goes from salty to sweet in seconds.
These should be in everyones mouth at Halloween.

Halloween Muffins

Halloween is the time for candy. Candy and pastries.
Now, these are some haunted muffins.
Many ghosts died to bring us these muffins.

They are regular muffins filled with scary chocolate chips.
And drenched in bloody icing.
Each one of them has a white chocolate ghost guarding them.

Can you hear them calling out? Eeeeaaat uuuus! Eeeeaaat uuuus!
At first we were to scared to eat them.
Bu we knew we had to. We had to overcome our fears.
After all, they are only pastries... Aaaargh! One of them bit me!
Heh, only kidding. I was the only one doing the biting.

The muffins are nice, very moist.
And the chocolate chip is the right amount of cocoa.
Both the bloody icing and the white chocolate ghost tastes sweet and complete the muffins.

Our stomachs feel haunted now...
It tickles.
