Pepsi Black Lemon

The holidays are rapidly approaching. Ho Ho Ho!
And to make room for all the nice Christmas food and candy I have decided to try something odd.
A Pepsi soda from Japan with less sugar?
Yes, you read that correctly. Not sugar free, just less sugar.



This Pepsi is marketed as a more adult soda.
Supposedly it has 50% less sugar than regular Pepsi.
And this sounds alright to me.
Regular sodas have lots and lots of sugar, which is not really that good.
I like the design of the bottle. It is very "adult".
The checkered background is nice and the black/white/yellow colour scheme is sweet.



It smells like regular Pepsi but with a hint of lemon, kind of like Pepsi Twist.
The taste is where things take a turn for the more weird.
It has a taste of cola, but more bitter.
You can really tell there is less sugar.
Maybe bitter is not the right word. It is bitter, but it is also sweet.
It is kind of like a dark sweet beer but more towards a soda.
Like I said, weird. I takes a lot getting used to.
After a while the lemon hits your mouth and it is even more bitter.
No sweet lemon here.
And you know what, in the end, I like it.
It is not something you are used to, but it is pretty good.

Pepsi Twist

This was my first try at a Pepsi with a different flavouring than just ragular cola.
It was kind of a big deal for me when it first came out.
As i recall, it was sadly only on shelfs for about a two years.
But, now I have found a store that sells them.
It is a German version, but I guess it will be the same.



The Pepsi Twist is a cola flavoured Pepsi with a twist of lemon flavouring.
It still has the same dark colour.
The can is great! It is black with the 90s-looking "Twist" logo.



It has a distinct smell of lemon but hardly any regular Pepsi smell.
I actually sat and smelled it for a while before taking a sip.
It has such a nice and fresh flavour.
The cola and lemon complete each other very nicely.
It is as if you would have a tall cold glass of Pepsi filled with lemon wedges.
I really like this version of Pepsi.

Oreo Soft Cookies Lemon Ice Cream

I love the fact that someone came up with the idea of combining Oreo cookies and ice cream.
I've written about ice cream Oreos before: Oreo Green Tea Ice Cream.
Those had expired and didn't really taste anything.
Let's see if these taste better shall we?



Oreos generally comes in a hard cookie type but there are also soft cookie versions available.
This is one of the latter, with two soft cookies and lemon ice cream cream in the middle.



The texture of the soft cookies, is of course, more chewy than the hard ones.
They actually smell like lemon ice cream, maybey a bit chemical.
They taste lemony, but not really like lemon ice cream.
It's more like lemon water or something like it.
Still the taste is good, but the aftertaste... Not as good.
It tastes like lemon cough drops and is pretty disgusting.
It also lingers in your mouth (troath) for a long time after you've eaten the cookies.



The packaging is pretty nice, not that special... But still nice.
So, points for scent and just trying a combination of cookies and ice cream, but not for taste.

Blu Energy Drink Lemon/Lime

I tried to find out where this energy drink originally comes from,
but their websites doesn't give much information, or I'm just tired.
What we can say is that it looks absolutely toxic.
The pictures doesn't really show how toxic it looks.
It has a nice smell of lime, not the chemical version mind you.
Almost as if you had squeezed a real lime into the glass.
The taste is also very limey and really refreshing.
I know there are lots of other flavours, but I can't find them here. :(
