Pepsi Energy Cola

Yes, todays post is late... Sorry about that.
Pepsi Japan is officially aboard the energy drink bandwagon.
Now, Pepsi has made other energy drinks before...
But this one is cramed, not only with caffein but also with ginseng extract, arginine, guarana extract and royal jelly extract.
It looks just like a regular Pepsi, which is somewhat boring, but it's cola so it's cola coloured.
There's definitely a Pepsi kind of smell to it, but also a kind of fruity smell.
I don't know if I would call the taste good.
It's kind of like a regular Pepsi without it's fizz mixed with a little fruitiness.



I don't even know what the after taste is supposed to be.
It's not bad, just weird.
So, does it give you a buzz?
Not really, sure you feel more energetic, but it wears of pretty quickly.

JuliSkum - Päronglass Och Cola

We're half past christmas and santa is sleeping sound at the north pole.
No wait, he's on vacation?
Yes, this year santa apparently decided he needed a vacation and went to the beach.
Just look at the packaging.
His jolly self at the beach, playing with a beach ball.
Even santa suffers from the greenhouse effect.

I've written about marshmallow santas before.
They are very popular at christmas time in Sweden. [JuleSkum Polka 2011]
This time however, they are flavoured mor like summer:
Pear ice cream and Cola.



The green one is obviously pear ice cream.
And it smells kind of like pear ice cream, but more artifical.
These where actually ok, with a sweet taste of pear.
They don't really taste like ice cream though...

And the brown one is cola flavoured.
It kind of smells like Coca-Cola, but tastes more like Igloo ice cream.
I don't usually like marshmallow santas, but these tasted a lot better.

KitKat Le Lectier Pear [Limited Edition]

Le Lectier Pears is a speciality from the Niigata area of Japan.
They are (apparently) known for their smooth texture and intense fragrance.
I can't remember if I've tried the pear itself, so I can't confirm.
It's a white chocolate based KitKat and it not being coloured makes it close to the same colour as the pear itself.
It smells really artificial and with a little research i found out the scent is artificial.



But the taste is supposed to be natural and sure, it taste kind of like pears.
It whould have been fun to have a real pear and compare tastes.
But unfortunately I couldn't find one.
It's still an ok KitKat and it being limited makes it even better.

Uncle Oinker's Gummy Bacon

Bacon has become very popular in recent years, with everything from bacon candy to bacon toothpicks.
This my friends, is Uncle Oinker's Gummy Bacon.
Gummy candy "shaped like bacon" with a strawberry flavour.
First of all, the name is awesome and the packaging is crazy.
A pig that's also a farmer who wants to give you his gummy bacon.
The packaging even has a Bacon Viewing Windows so you can look at how the product really looks before making a purchase.
Much better than exaggerated graphics of the product.



The package includes four slices of gummy bacon, that kind of looks like bacon.
They are supposed to be fat and cholesterol free, but i don't really trust a pig who is also a farmer...
The slices smells of strawberry, but it's a very chemical smell.
The taste is unfortunately pretty bland and they hardly taste of strawberrys at all.
Still it's not everyday you get to try gummy bacon, that kind of tastes like strawberrys.
They should have gone all the way and gone for bacon flavour instead.
That would have been crazy.

Pepsi Pink [Limited Edition]

Tomorrow is Midsummer's Eve in Sweden.
On this day in Sweden, we eat the year's first potatoes and soused herring with chives and sour cream.
What is more important, is the desert, which is strawberries and milk.
And what suits better to try today, than the Pepsi Pink.
Of course flavoured with strawberries and milk.
This is a limited edition flavour from 2011, of course from Japan.



First of all, it's really pink.
You can't really see it in the pictures, but believe me, it's PINK.
I can't really place what it smells like, but it doesn't really smell like strawberries.
More like sweet and tangy.
But if the scent is a disappointment, the taste isn't.



It tastes a lot like strawberries in milk. Very tasty.
It gives you a nostalgic feeling from when you were a child and couldn't wait to eat a bowl of strawberries and milk.
Even after a few gulps, the taste of strawberries is really strong.
I enjoyed this one, but i enjoy weird things, so you have to make up your own mind...

Aero Hot Chocolate Drink Minty

I've written about Aero chocolate twice before.
The regular bubbly chocolate and a christmas version with mint flavour.
And now I get to taste it as a drink. My life is now complete (well... not really).
The package contains four bags of hot choclatey powder goodness.
Perfect if you have friends over or if you are greedy.



You're supposed to put the powder in a mug and add boiling water to really see the air bubbles forming.
I tried this together with a dear friend and we both tought the powder had a faint minty smell.
I was the only one brave enough to taste the powder and it tastes kind of like Aero chocolate.



Adding the water made it even better. The room was filled with a minty smell.
And as you can see in the picture, the water really creates great chocolate air bubbles.
We both enjoyed this beverage, filled with a chocolate and minty flavour.
Kind of refreshing, which is weird because the chocolate has quite a heavy texture.
It feels like the drink melts in your mouth and after youre done you are left with a great minty aftertaste.
Oh... And I must mention the box artwork. It's quite lovely.
Also, my Manny Calavera mug is so awesome!

Toffee Popcorn Yogurt

Is it too late for breakfast? Or maybey we should call this a snack? For brunch?
What I'm trying to say, is that I don't know at what time of the day you're supposed to eat this.
Yes, this i yogurt, with popcorn dipped in toffee... I'll let that sink in.

Another weird part is that this product isn't even from America, it's from Germany.



Mcennedys is a product of Lidl which is a German company.
Anyway, it's plain yogurt with small, small bits of toffee popcorn in it.
It looks pretty disgusting and not at all appetizing.
Smells a lot of toffee but not as much of popcorn.
The same goes for the taste, super sweet toffee flavour.
As is customary with popcorn, they get stuck in your teeth ;)
This was kind of a downer, weird is my alley, but this was to sweet and i still don't know at what time of the day I'm supposed to eat it.
