Pepsi Black Lemon

The holidays are rapidly approaching. Ho Ho Ho!
And to make room for all the nice Christmas food and candy I have decided to try something odd.
A Pepsi soda from Japan with less sugar?
Yes, you read that correctly. Not sugar free, just less sugar.



This Pepsi is marketed as a more adult soda.
Supposedly it has 50% less sugar than regular Pepsi.
And this sounds alright to me.
Regular sodas have lots and lots of sugar, which is not really that good.
I like the design of the bottle. It is very "adult".
The checkered background is nice and the black/white/yellow colour scheme is sweet.



It smells like regular Pepsi but with a hint of lemon, kind of like Pepsi Twist.
The taste is where things take a turn for the more weird.
It has a taste of cola, but more bitter.
You can really tell there is less sugar.
Maybe bitter is not the right word. It is bitter, but it is also sweet.
It is kind of like a dark sweet beer but more towards a soda.
Like I said, weird. I takes a lot getting used to.
After a while the lemon hits your mouth and it is even more bitter.
No sweet lemon here.
And you know what, in the end, I like it.
It is not something you are used to, but it is pretty good.

Fanta Ume

Fanta Japan... I just love how you are willing to try different flavours.
This time we have the Fanta Ume.
Ume is a Japanese plum and is supposedly inedible because it is very, very sour.
It is usually pickled or made into a juice or liqueur.
But here it is in the form of a carbonated soft drink.



The lable on the bottle is kind of simple for a Japanese soft drink.
But nevertheless, it shows the fruit and the green/yellow colour palette is nice.
It has a very sweet scent that is very plum like.
It is actually very pleasant and it makes my mouth water.
The flavour is also very sweet and has a nice tone of plum.
I think the flavour is perfectly balanced between the sweet and the fruity.
This is, so far, my favourite Fanta flavour.

Pepsi White

When you review this much goodness, you can get a bit thirsty.
Good thing the Japanese Santas over at Pepsi Japan has a Christmas themed soda.
This is a snow white, tangerine flavored soda.
What is a tangerine?
Well, it is a orange-colored citrus fruit which kind of tastes like a mandarin orange.
I can not remember if there is any difference in the taste because I have not eaten tangerine in a while.



The bottle is adorned with six different snow(wom)men.
I got a hold of the one with a snowoman that has a spiffy little hat.
She looks really happy to be on my soda today.
And I am happy to have here on this blog.
As I wrote before, the liquid is supposed to be snow white colored.
And I think it looks very cold and wintery.



The soda smells a lot of citrus fruits. It is a very refreshing smell.
It has a very citrusy taste which is also refreshing.
I do not know about other countries, but here in Sweden citrus fruits are very much Christmas.
So I think this soda is very nice to try at Christmas.

Mountain Dew White Out

Mountain Dew White Out was the final victor of a flavor testing in 2009.
Out of the three finalists, this was the one most voted by testers.
And with good rights, because it is very nice.



White Out is a citrus version of the regular Mountain Dew.
I do like the can, it is very arctic.
Which is also the theme of the liquid itself.
Which is almost snow white.



It has a very nice light citrus smell that makes the whole room smell nice.
And the flavor? So refreshing.
Lots of citrus flavor, but not stingy or tangy.
Just nice and refreshing citrus flavor.
One of my favorites.

Fanta Mango & Passionfruit [Limited Edition]

I have only writen about Fanta once on this blog before.
But that must change, as I have tried lots of nice and special Fanta flavours.
And this is one of them.



A limited edition Fanta with mango and passionfruit flavour.
I like both mango and passionfruit, so this should be an easy fit.
I really like the can, except the Fanta world person, I do not like him.
Maybey because I absolutely hate that commercial.
The can has a nice representation of the flavour.
Purple for passionfruit and orange for mango (and orange juice, because there is lots of that in it).



The soda does not really smell like anything more than regular Fanta.
I would have liked a more mango smell, because that is really nice.
What about the taste?
Both the mango and the passionfruit flavouring is kind of tame.
On account of the orange juice.
Yes, it tastes the most of orange juice, but the other flavours are also there.
It is a really nice soda, but I can not help but wonder what the taste would have been without the orange.

7-Up Cherry

I am a huge fan of 7-Up.
It has a nice refreshing lemon/lime taste to it that makes it just perfect.
I prefer it to Sprite or other cheap versions.
I also am a huge fan of cherries.
Cherries are great, they have a round sweet taste that goes together with most things.
So naturally, I should like 7-Up Cherry?

First of all, I think they nailed it with the can.
I think it is perfect, nice cherry graphics and colours.
Therefore I was a bit disappointed that the beverage itself was not "cherry coloured".
I would really have liked it to to be that instead of just regular see-through coloured.



I was more thrilled to find out that it smells like cherries... A lot like cherries.
I love the smell of cherries.
It tastes lovely too.
A sweet taste of cherries mixed with the regular taste of lemon/lime.
Although this was a great beverage, I must say I prefer the original version.

The Simpsons Melonläsk

The Bartman has his own soda? When do I get my own soda?
I don't know if this is genuine or a knock-off?
It has the Fox logo and the Simpsons logo, but one can never know.
Anyway, it is melon flavoured. Does Bart love melon that much?
He looks very thirsty on the can.
I should watch more Simpsons.



The colour is very nice.
It is very melon greenish.
It has a faint smell of melon, very sweet melon. It is faint but it is there.
The taste is kind of the same, pretty faint.
It tastes like melon, but not overwhelming.
I would have liked more taste.
Theres not much carbonation and this I like.
There are too many sodas out there with to much carbonation.
This one has a little fizz, and that is enough.

This was an ok soda but I will probably not try it again.
It does not matter how much Bart begs me to, I must stand firm in this decision.

Fanta Super Fruits Mix [Limited Edition]

From Japan (where else) comes the Fanta Super Fruits Mix.
A bold mix of fruits and flavours.
This is a limited edition Fanta with Acerola, Passionfruit, White Grape, Green Sweet Apple, and Grapefruit.

I was hesitant to try it at first.
You see, I don't really like it when you mix lots of fruits into one single juice/soda.
Mostly, the flavours doesn't mix well and you get something that doesn't taste very good.

But this one is from Fanta and has both vitamin C and E, so it should be good?
I carefully opened the bottle. I wanted to expose myself to its scent from the start.
And what a scent it is. Or should i say scents.
It doesn't smell like one thing, but several things and at different times.
The first whiff might smell sour, the second sweet, the third... Something else completely.
It's a really cool feature and it makes me eager to taste it.



The packaging... Is kind of trippy, lots of different fonts and colours and fruits and such.
Not a favourite but I still like it.
And the coulour of the drink is just awesome.
I can only describe it as vitamin-tablet-yellow.

So, how does it taste?
Well, the taste is kind of like the smell. It alternates.
The first swig is sour, the second sweet... You get the picture.
It's both good and bad at the same time but not at the same time.
Unfortunately it doesn't end there.
The flavours starts mixing and you get what i described above.
Something not so tasty.
At least I was happy about it for a while and I would definently recommend it.

Pepsi Pink [Limited Edition]

Tomorrow is Midsummer's Eve in Sweden.
On this day in Sweden, we eat the year's first potatoes and soused herring with chives and sour cream.
What is more important, is the desert, which is strawberries and milk.
And what suits better to try today, than the Pepsi Pink.
Of course flavoured with strawberries and milk.
This is a limited edition flavour from 2011, of course from Japan.



First of all, it's really pink.
You can't really see it in the pictures, but believe me, it's PINK.
I can't really place what it smells like, but it doesn't really smell like strawberries.
More like sweet and tangy.
But if the scent is a disappointment, the taste isn't.



It tastes a lot like strawberries in milk. Very tasty.
It gives you a nostalgic feeling from when you were a child and couldn't wait to eat a bowl of strawberries and milk.
Even after a few gulps, the taste of strawberries is really strong.
I enjoyed this one, but i enjoy weird things, so you have to make up your own mind...
