Starbucks Honey & Almond Hot Chocolate

It is that time of year again.
To sample the Starbucks Christmas specials.
And like last year, I was very dissapointed to see they only had one new flavour.
And it was not even coffee based.
But still, hot chocolate is a must at winter.



There is a lot of chocolate in this beverage.
Hot chocolate with chocolate whipped cream and chocolate sauce plus honey.
There is also ground almond in the beverage.
It smells alot of chocolate.
It also taste alot of chocolate. Alot.
To much for my tastes and I do not think the almond fits at all.
It tastes pretty weird and not that good.

Pop-Tarts Frosted Marshmallow Hot Chocolate [Limited Edition]

After a day outside, playing in the snow, what could be better than a nice cup of hot chocolate with marshmallows?
Well... Nothing really, except?
Pop-Tarts Frosted Marshmallow Hot Chocolate!



These are a limited edition for this winter season (but I will bet ya, they will be back next season).
I love the idea of taking something as great as hot chocolate and making it into Pop-Tarts.
The box is very nice.
A snowy winter world, the Pop-Tarts themselves and a small cup of cocoa representing the flavour.



There are twelve tarts in the box, so there is enough for everyone.
Baking them in my toaster fills the room with a great scent of hot chocolate.
This takes me back to winter mornings with a cup of hot cocoa.



The taste reminds me of chocolate.
Maybey not hot chocolate but it is pretty close.
Eating your way to the middle of the pastrie, reveals the marshmallow filling.
The filling combined with the chocolate makes the experience much more tasty.

Maybey these are not as christmasy as you would want them to be, but they sure are wintery.

Aero Hot Chocolate Drink Minty

I've written about Aero chocolate twice before.
The regular bubbly chocolate and a christmas version with mint flavour.
And now I get to taste it as a drink. My life is now complete (well... not really).
The package contains four bags of hot choclatey powder goodness.
Perfect if you have friends over or if you are greedy.



You're supposed to put the powder in a mug and add boiling water to really see the air bubbles forming.
I tried this together with a dear friend and we both tought the powder had a faint minty smell.
I was the only one brave enough to taste the powder and it tastes kind of like Aero chocolate.



Adding the water made it even better. The room was filled with a minty smell.
And as you can see in the picture, the water really creates great chocolate air bubbles.
We both enjoyed this beverage, filled with a chocolate and minty flavour.
Kind of refreshing, which is weird because the chocolate has quite a heavy texture.
It feels like the drink melts in your mouth and after youre done you are left with a great minty aftertaste.
Oh... And I must mention the box artwork. It's quite lovely.
