Mars Refuel

Ohh, man... This is a treat!
They used to sell this chocolate based drink in Sweden, between 2000-2002.
If my memory serves me right, they where called Mars Chocolate Drink then, but i might be wrong.
I liked it a lot, no scratch that... I loved it!
That's why I was very sad when they stopped selling them after 2002.
I went as far as contacting the manufacturer and the distributer about it, but no dice.

Fastforward 10 years. Picture the scene: Paris, France. A small stand selling crepes.
Myself, getting a craving for crepes and what do I see? A chocolate drink called Mars Refuel!
On the outside I was serious, like the grown up I am. But on the inside I was giddy like a child.
(Ok, I was giddy on the outside to... You got me.)



The drink wasn’t cheap mind you, but I had to have it.
I bought one, thinking I would find more (read: cheaper), but I couldn’t find anymore.
So, I was lucky enough to get one home only to find out a local store har started selling them.
But now I could get a 10-year-later-taste to see if it was as good as I remembered.

It sure smelled the same, like chocolate milk, Only sweeter and a bit fudgy.
The taste was so nice. I don’t know if it tasted the same but it was still so good.
It’s like drinking a liquified Mars bar. The chocolate drink is rich and sweet.
And it has a little more edge to the taste than other chocolate based drinks.

It was a great reunion and I’ll be sure to try it again.

Maltesers Shake 'n' Snack

This post was supposed to be up yesterday. I simply had to much to do, to have the time to write about epic candy.
But today I'm back with a vengeance! A sweet snacky vengeance.
Today, I bring you a really healthy snack (not really).
I bring you the Malteser Shake 'n' Snack.
A Chocolate Milkshake and Maltesers Combo (just like it says on the packaging).

This snack consists of a plastic cup, with a plastic lid and a small box of Maltesers.
The idea is to pull of the foil wrap and pour the Maltesers into the milkshake.
Then put the plastic lid back on to the cup and shake.
This is supposed to mix the liquid with the balls, but really... They're just floating around.



The Maltesers taste like, well, Maltesers. If you haven't tried them, do.
Now, I don't generally like chocolate milkshake. But this one is different.
It tastes more like liquid chocolate pudding and chocolate pudding is always nice to eat.



Also, after you put the balls in the liquid, I think it's unfair to call it a milkshake.
You're supposed to be able to drink a milkshake through a straw.
How are you supposed to suck the Maltesers balls through a straw. This baffles me. I choose to eat it with a spoon instead.

It smells like regular chocolate milk which is a pretty nice smell.
The combination of chocolate milkshake/pudding/milk and Maltesers is pretty great.
If you can get over the fact that you have to ingest it with a spoon.



What about the packaging? It's nice.
It's very much like a regular Malteser packaging.
Also, you can remove the papper/graphics part for safe keeping.

All in all, it's a great and fun snack.

3 Musketeers

3 Musketeers are manufactured by Mars, Incorporated and that explains why they smell and tastes just like Milky Way.
Because they taste like Milky Way, they are great, I love milky way! :)

Mars Muffin

Vad är bättre än en chokladkaka? En muffin som smakar som en chokladkaka så klart :)

Och den här smakar verkligen som Marschoklad! Mycket god :)
Den är tillverkad av McVitie's (samma som gör Digestive) och säljs tydligen bara i Storbritannen. Tur för mig att jag fick tag på en då :)

Även om den ser liten ut så är den väldigt kraftfull, säkerligen en riktig kaloribomb. Precis som vi vill ha det? :)

Milky Way - Simply Caramel

Chokladen Milky Way skapades redan 1923. Den vanliga versionen som säljs i Sverige, inehåller nougat och vanilj men i Simply Caramel som släpptes 2010, har man ersatt nougaten med karamell.

Karamellsmaken tar över helt, det smakar inte alls Milky Way tycker jag. Istället är den mer lik, ja jag vet inte, Mars kanske? Där är knappt någon chokladsmak kvar, det kan iförsig vara för att den överlevet en lång flygresa. Varning för att karamellen fastnar i tänderna.

Den är i alla fall väldigt mättande och jag skulle väldigt gärna vilja prova den igen.
