Giant Star Wars Lightsaber Pockys

Today is May the 4th and that means it is International Star Wars Day.
A day for all fans and nerds to celebrate the behemoth that is Star Wars.
Because I am a huge Star Wars nerd, I to have to celebrate this day.

And that means, candy... Star Wars candy.
Pocky is a very popular candy in Japan.
It is basically a biscuit stick with flavour or covered in something with flavour.
These giant lightsaber *woosh* Pockys are an official team-up with Lucasarts.
No shortcuts here.

There are two kinds of packages, one featuring the evil dark lord Darth Vader.
And one featuring the good, but whiny, jedi Luke Skywalker.
Both boxes are really awesome, but of course I like the Vader one best.
It is so sinister (yes, I should save this for "Revenge of The 5th", but I just can not help it).
Each box contains six lightsabers in three colours and flavours.
The green saber is green tea flavoured, the blue grape flavoured.
And the red (pink?), strawberry flavoured.
We all know Darth loves his strawberries.

The green one actually has a smell of tea. It is very faint but it is there. Like a tremor in the force.
The taste is a bit more strong, like really sweet green tea.
The blue one smells a lot of grape. Chemical grape. To much if you ask me.
It tastes a bit like grape, I guess. It has a kind of weird flavour.
Last but not least, the red evil lightsaber has a smell of sweet strawberries.
And a taste of even sweeter strawberries. Of the three, I like this one the most.

That is all from me today. I am gonna go watch Star Wars.
May the 4th be with you!

Cadbury Dairy Milk Egg 'n' Spoon

There has not been much happening on this blog for a while.
But that is because I have been out hunting.
Hunting for eggs... Easter eggs to be precise.
And I finally found some worthy of this blog.

You see, they have to be special.
And these are pretty special.
Egg 'n' Spoon from Cadbury is on the menu today.
They come in, what at first, looks like a regular egg carton.
But this is a special easter egg carton, containing golden chocolate eggs.

The idea is that you peel the golden layer of.
Then bite the top of and eat the mousse content with a spoon.
How do you get a spoon that small you ask?
Well, a neat little plastic spoon is provided in the carton.
Actually, there are two of them.
Something I did not discover at first.
That means the eggs are great for sharing, if you are into that.

There are two flavours available:
Milk chocolate mousse and white chocolate mousse.
I chose the latter, because it was the most tempting.
There are four eggs in the carton.
The milk chocolate egg shell smells and tastes regular milk chocolate.
It is when you start eating the mousse with the small spoon that the magic happens.
The mousse is very fluffy and sweet and I enjoyed it very much.

I hope all of my readers have a happy easter and a pleasant weekend.

Fanta Ume

Fanta Japan... I just love how you are willing to try different flavours.
This time we have the Fanta Ume.
Ume is a Japanese plum and is supposedly inedible because it is very, very sour.
It is usually pickled or made into a juice or liqueur.
But here it is in the form of a carbonated soft drink.

The lable on the bottle is kind of simple for a Japanese soft drink.
But nevertheless, it shows the fruit and the green/yellow colour palette is nice.
It has a very sweet scent that is very plum like.
It is actually very pleasant and it makes my mouth water.
The flavour is also very sweet and has a nice tone of plum.
I think the flavour is perfectly balanced between the sweet and the fruity.
This is, so far, my favourite Fanta flavour.

Heart Nuggets

You thought there would be no more Valentine's day products?
Even I am not that heartless.
Not when there are heart shaped chicken nuggets available.

But what can I write about nuggets?
The box is at least very Valentineish.
Red velvet and hearts all around.

The nuggets are the same chicken flavoured mixture of questionably origin as usual.
They smell the same and taste the same.
But they are heart shaped... And that is pretty awesome.

Once again... Have a happy Valentine's day.

Gnaw - The Love Bar

Today is Valentine's day.
A day historically remembered for the Christian martyrs sacrificing themselves for their beliefs.
Many of them had the name Valentine and that is why we turned it into an epic love fest.

As you can tell, I am not that fond of Valentine's day.
But nevertheless... Traditions are traditions.
From the chocolate factory in Gnorfolk, we have The Love Bar.
Basically an white chocolate bar with chevy candy hearts.

I think the packaging is pretty nice.
It is a bit subtle because not all people connect Venice with romance and love.
The chocolate has a smell of white chocolate but there the hearts does not smell like anything.
It tastes like regular white chocolate and the hearts does not taste that much.
Pretty bland if you ask me.

Have a nice Valentine's day.

Pepsi EX Extra

Wow, I should rename this blogg to "On Hiatus..."
Has it been a month already?
I guess i needed a break, but have no fear, we are back.

And what better way to start this blogg year with some caffeine.
This is Pepsi Japans latest entry on the energy drink market.
I have previously written about the Pepsi Energy Cola.
Back then I thought it was an ok energy drink but with an weird after taste.
This time, I am trying the Pepsi EX Extra.

It is an 200ml can of soda, that packs the same amount of caffeine as a cup of coffee.
The can is very much Pepsi, with a giant logo and that blue Pepsi color.
With the previous product, they went with a golden can.
I think I like this version better, the Pepsi can should be blue.

It has a similar taste as the PEC, but with a bit more Pepsi flavouring in it.
I like this one better, it does not have that weird after taste.
It is more like an over caffeinated Pepsi.
