Starbucks Honey & Almond Hot Chocolate

It is that time of year again.
To sample the Starbucks Christmas specials.
And like last year, I was very dissapointed to see they only had one new flavour.
And it was not even coffee based.
But still, hot chocolate is a must at winter.



There is a lot of chocolate in this beverage.
Hot chocolate with chocolate whipped cream and chocolate sauce plus honey.
There is also ground almond in the beverage.
It smells alot of chocolate.
It also taste alot of chocolate. Alot.
To much for my tastes and I do not think the almond fits at all.
It tastes pretty weird and not that good.

Starbucks Orange Mocha

Like last Christmas, I went to Starbucks to sample their Christmas lattes.
But this year, I was deeply dissappointed.
The Gingerbread Latte and the Toffee Nut Latte was still on the menu.
There was only one new flavor. The Orange Mocha.
Now oranges are a big part of Christmas here in Sweden.
But still, I was expecting something else.
Still, one new flavor is better than zero new flavors.



It has a faint orange smell, mixed with the coffee-chocolate smell.
I do not know if the whipped cream and chocolate sauce really is necessary.
At first the taste is pretty nice, like a Terry's chocolate orange.
But after a few sips, the orange flavor takes a chemical turn.
And really assaults your taste buds.
It is to much, to sweet and to little Christmas.
I had to buy another beverage to get rid of the after taste.

Starbucks Christmas Lattes

I like coffee, but I do not like just black coffee.
For me it has to be a latte or a cappuccino or something similar.
And that is why I really like Starbucks.
Bacause they have different types of lattes and such.
And they have new flavours depending on the season.
Our local Starbucks has gone christmas crazy.
This year, they are offering three different christmas lattes (ok, one is a mocha).
They also get a bonus for playing christmas songs.

The sign greating you and telling you what flavours to expect is great.
The only thing I do not like, is that your coffee is not served in those lovely cups in the picture.
But nevermind that. Christmas lattes!



Gingerbread Latte
The first one is a gingerbread flavoured latte.
It has a distinct gingerbread scent and it takes you right into christmas mode.
The taste is lovely and it feels like drinking liquid gingerbread.
While still tasting like coffee mind you.



Cranberry White Mocha
Looks nothing like in the picture above, which is bad.
It smells like whipped cream and white chocolate.
Has a pretty sourish taste, like cranberry or lingonberries.
It is very sweet.



Toffee Nut Latte
This one also smells like whipped cream.
It has a kind of bitter taste to it that I do not like.
The crushed nuts are sweet and crunchy.
This was my least favourite of the three.

In the end the Gingerbread Latte is the clear winner!

Starbucks Apple Crunch Latte

What's this? An update on a monday?
Well, I'm just that generous.

I was at Starbucks during the weekend.
And I knew I had to try their new latte.
The Apple Crunch Latte.
I know some of you would not call this "coffee" but that's just the way it is.

First of all, we ordered a small cup and the thing is still huge (go Starbucks!)
It doesn't really smell like apples, maybey a little.
It smells more "sweet". Probably the (apple)caramel swirl.



The (apple)caramel flavour is a bit bitter and the coffee flavour is a bit sweet.
I know it should probably be the other way around.
The coffee being bitter and the (apple)caramel being sweet.
But there's something weird about it because that's what the different flavours it tastes like.

There's also a hint of cinnammon flavour which is nice.
The crunch doesn't taste anything but it's a nice addon to the whole of the beverage.
It's kind of like space food, because all in all, it tastes like drinking an apple cake with a coffee on the side.
After a few swigs, the content is starting too look pretty bad, but it's still good.
