Pepsi EX Extra

Wow, I should rename this blogg to "On Hiatus..."
Has it been a month already?
I guess i needed a break, but have no fear, we are back.



And what better way to start this blogg year with some caffeine.
This is Pepsi Japans latest entry on the energy drink market.
I have previously written about the Pepsi Energy Cola.
Back then I thought it was an ok energy drink but with an weird after taste.
This time, I am trying the Pepsi EX Extra.



It is an 200ml can of soda, that packs the same amount of caffeine as a cup of coffee.
The can is very much Pepsi, with a giant logo and that blue Pepsi color.
With the previous product, they went with a golden can.
I think I like this version better, the Pepsi can should be blue.

It has a similar taste as the PEC, but with a bit more Pepsi flavouring in it.
I like this one better, it does not have that weird after taste.
It is more like an over caffeinated Pepsi.

Ghostbusters Slimed! Energy Drink

Even ghost hunters needs some extra energy sometimes.
Even if they have a cool pimped out ambulance called ECTO-1.
I am of course, talking about Ghostbusters.

I grew up with the films and TV-series.
And I really love them.
I know Slimer did not get that much screen time in the movies.
But as I can remember, he had more time in the series.
A nasty but friendly ghost.
Why should he not get his own energy drink?



The can is lovely. There he is, his nasty self.
Of course I could not get a good picture of the liquid.
Because it is really green. A lot like slime.

Suspicion soon arose when i noticed it smells just like an ordinary energy drink.
It also taste just like any other energy drink.
That made me sad.
But, then I remembered its green color.
And I can finally say... I got slimed!

PowerKing White Cola

Candynstuff has been on vacation and therefore it has been very quiet around here.
But now work has started again and what do you need then?
Yes, an energy drink.

Today I will be trying the Powerking White Cola.
Now, Powerking is a kind of generic energy drink.
But it still has some interesting flavour, like this one!

There is an ice cream in Sweden called Igloo, which is basically an cola flavoured popsicle.
The cola taste of the popsicle is really nice and this energy drink is very close to it.
It has a very faint scent of cola, but as always with energy drinks, the taurin scent takes over.



The can and fluid is very generic.
Yes it is White Cola but there could at least have been some more graphics on the can?
And the fluid should definetly be white, not see-through.

The flavour is pretty close to the Igloo popsicle.
It is a very nice flavour acctually, kind of smooth.
Not like most energy drinks.

Blood Energy Potion

Halloween is upon us. Insert manical laughter!
Today I choose to be a vampire. A tired vampire.
I need to suuuck your blooood! You're blood energy potion?
This energy potion is supposed to have the same nutritional content as natural blood.
I'm not to sure about that, but let's try it out.



First of all, the bag looks lovely.
Just like an intravenous bag (well almost).
And the liquid itself is nice.
I think it looks a least close to real blood.



But i don't think real blood smells this fruity.
Yes, the "blood" is fruit punch flavoured.
It has a strange fruity scent that I can't place.
But the taste, it's like mango and raspberries blended together.
If this is what blood tastes like, sign me up for vampire land!

And for all of you real vampires out there who wants to try it, it has absolutely no garlic in it.

Pepsi Energy Cola

Yes, todays post is late... Sorry about that.
Pepsi Japan is officially aboard the energy drink bandwagon.
Now, Pepsi has made other energy drinks before...
But this one is cramed, not only with caffein but also with ginseng extract, arginine, guarana extract and royal jelly extract.
It looks just like a regular Pepsi, which is somewhat boring, but it's cola so it's cola coloured.
There's definitely a Pepsi kind of smell to it, but also a kind of fruity smell.
I don't know if I would call the taste good.
It's kind of like a regular Pepsi without it's fizz mixed with a little fruitiness.



I don't even know what the after taste is supposed to be.
It's not bad, just weird.
So, does it give you a buzz?
Not really, sure you feel more energetic, but it wears of pretty quickly.

Blu Energy Drink Lemon/Lime

I tried to find out where this energy drink originally comes from,
but their websites doesn't give much information, or I'm just tired.
What we can say is that it looks absolutely toxic.
The pictures doesn't really show how toxic it looks.
It has a nice smell of lime, not the chemical version mind you.
Almost as if you had squeezed a real lime into the glass.
The taste is also very limey and really refreshing.
I know there are lots of other flavours, but I can't find them here. :(

Magic Citronmeliss/Fläderblom Energy Drink

Magic was the first energy drink i ever tasted. It's a kind of Red Bull copy, but better. In the lasts few years i haven't really seen it around, so it was a surprise when i saw it again and in a new flavor!

Magic Citronmeliss/Fläderblom (Lemon balm/Elderflower in English) is, like i wrote earlier a new flavor for 2011. It has a very citrusy smell, but you can also notice a hint of elderflower.
A very pleasant smell actually. But what about the taste? It's good, like a Red Bull that tastes good.
Lots of Guarana flavor, with lemon and some elderflower. There is kind of a beer flavor, which is strange, because i don't like beer. I like this, but It's not my absolute favourite.

I must say that it doesn't really mix well with yoghurt. But that's another story.

Power Plus Energy Drink

Som ni kan tänka er är detta en Red Bull-kopia. Den luktar och smakar som en Red Bull fast inte lika kraftigt. Som en billig version, vilket det är. Eftersom att jag inte tycker om Red Bull så tycker jag heller inte om denna...

Gav den någon energi då? Nja, knappast. Den verkar vara ganska utblandad, även om den innehåller taurin och koffein (och en massa socker.
